EN-NICHI Old-School Japanese Festival hosted by Ko-Kyoto
On Friday, April 26th, from 4pm - 9pm, the Bow Market courtyard will be filled with fun and joy for all - from children to adults hosted by Ko-Kyoto. There will be food, music, dance, games, and merriment. Join us and enjoy our old fashioned EN-NICHI Japanese festival!
What is EN-NICHI?
En-nichi means "Festival Day" in Japanese. Every summer in Japan, people wearing Yukata (Japanese robes) gather to enjoy locally-rooted festivals in each town. These festivals are called En-nichi. Originally, these festivals served as ceremonies for warding off evil and praying for a good harvest. However, they have evolved into summer fun traditions cherished by people of all ages.
Special guests from Japan!
At this event, Ko-Kyoto will recreate the atmosphere of an old-school Japanese festival with a special guest group from Japan, Dagashiya Rock!
Dagashiya Rock are known to travel all over Japan, entertaining people with their unique wagon, music, dance, special games, and traditional foods, to create traditional festivals. This will be their first time coming to the US to share the Japanese culture of these festivals.
Let us introduce you to the traditional food and games, and share with you the fun! Experience the atmosphere of the Japanese festival and explore Japanese culture!

Kids Dance Party & Epilepsy Fundraiser
Grab the kids and come join us as we host a kids dance party at Bow Market to help fundraise for the Epilepsy Foundation of New England. INFO HERE.
Vinyl Index co-founder, Jeremy, window/sign painter extraordinaire, Mandee aka Mandee Made, and their sweet 11-year-old daughter, Sadie, are throwing a party to help fundraise for the Epilepsy Foundation of New England.
In Dec of 2021, Sadie was diagnosed with Sunflower Syndrome, a rare type of photophobic Epilepsy, and the Epilepsy Foundation of New England was there to help. EFNE runs camps, funds research projects, does outreach and advocates on behalf of kids like Sadie and they need our support!
We’ll be donning our dancing pants and heading to Upstairs at Bow on Saturday, April 6th from 12pm-4pm for music, snacks, dancing and donations! This is not a drop-off event but don’t worry, there’s a full bar and all of Bow Market will be open for business and celebrating!
If you can't make the party, there is also the Boston Walk for Epilepsy on April 28th. Registrations and donations can be made here - https://efne.epilepsynewengland.org/team/546882
